It’s official! The results are in and the winner of American Idol season 7 is……

COOK!!!

Well, if you are an Archuleta fan just like me, you’d be disappointed. I’ve been rooting for David Archuleta since Day 1 and I really really thought he would win after watching last night’s performance.

No doubt Cook is a good singer but I’ve never really liked him much cause he seem kinda cool, verging on arrogance. However, I did see a different side of him in the finale result show just a few minutes ago. He’s actually quite funny when he wants to be.

BUT, but, I think that the performances just now were a bit skewed to Cook’s side. Cook got to perform solo with a band (whose name I can't remember) but Archuleta only had a few seconds to do his with One Republic. And in that performance, the spotlight was on the lead singer of One Republic rather than on Archuleta. I kept waiting for David Archuleta's solo performance but it never came :(

Still, the fact remains that David Cook has won, and by a large margin of 12 million votes at that. *sigh* This is another time where the person I was rooting for failed to win American Idol. I remember rooting for Bo Bice & Katharine McPhee in season 4 and 5 respectively. But Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks ended up taking the crown. Last year was an exception because my favourite, Jordin Sparks, won. As for the years before Carrie Underwood, I didn't watch American Idol.
